I actually use a play pen (pac-and-play) and both of our girls have done great in them. I leave a blankie to sleep on, a potty pad, toys, food and water. They each have their own play pen. I got the first play pen given to me and it worked so well we got a second when we got our second little one. They are only around $50.00 and you may be able to find one used or ask a friend. Someone may have one stored. That is how I got my first one.
