Well Uni is a girl, so when she pees I lift up one leg and her tail and make sure her hair is off the pad. My BIL was making fun of me the other day for doing it, but well she sleeps in bed with me and I don't want a butt full of pee in my face.
As for your boy, I have heard of trimming the hair on his weenie
into a "pee string". Leave a half an inch to an inch or so tapering to a point and when he goes it will direct the pee straight away from his body.
