When I first brought Daisy home (born 6/9/09, now 3.1 lbs), people teased me because I was also afraid that the cats would hurt the dog.......kind of backwards, don't you think? It's just a reality when you have a little one!

I am a pretty big believer in close supervision, but I also think that the puppies will figure out how (or if) to approach the cat fairly quickly. I had to realize that a little barking and yelping was the way they worked out their social relationship and didn't necessarily mean anyone was being injured. For example, I have a Maine Coon (that is HUGE compared to Daisy) who will put Daisy in a bear hug until she squeals, then he lets go......Daisy quickly comes running back for more play.....this goes on and on!

Best wishes!
