Hello

Potty pad training is great expecially with the cold weather. I think that it is way to cold outside (I live in Michigan too and have a 14 week old puppy) I will not even allow my 6 1/2 month outside when it's really cold. I confine my baby to a small area in the kitchen to let her have exercise and attention. When she's not in the kitchen she is in her x pen. There is always a potty pad, bed, food, and water available to her. When I see her show signs of looking for a place to go potty, I encourage her to go to the potty pad. I also have a 3 year old that I potty pad trained due to the winter cold, but when it warmed up I trained her to go outside as well, and now she will only go potty outside. Good luck with your baby and welcome to yorkietalk
