My first Yorkie, male, trained by 4 months to potty outside and never ever had accidents. Piper, female, was alot harder to train. If you brought her out every 30 minutes she wouldn't have accidents. When she was real young she urinated quite frequently. I was concerned and thought for sure she had an urinary infection but after all the tests the vet said she was fine. He said that she had an immature bladder and in time she would have better control. By 6 months she had better control but since she never asked to go out I would bring her out frequently. Piper is year and a half and still never asks to go out. I've come to the conclusion that she probably never will. I let her out every 2 hours and remain accident free. She has good control during the night and holds it 10 hours or so. I just wish she would learn to tell me when she has to go out during the day. My first Yorkie always asked to go out and I never had to think about when was he out last.
