If you're talking about a ponytail/topknot, I leave mine in 24/7. I take them down, comb out and put them back in a pony usually at least a couple of times a day, first thing in the morning, then as needed during the day and last thing before bedtime. The traditional topknot, I've only used for pictures. I generally use the soft scrunchies instead of bands here around the house. If we're gong out I'll use bands and bows, as the bands do hold the hair up better than the scrunchies.
