I dont know if this has been asked already but what type of anesthesia did the vet use? When I took Cookie to get neutered I was terrified because he was barely 3 lbs maybe a 2.8 lbs. I read in many websites that they should use isoflurane and not a IV anesthetic. My vet at that time did not want to use it , he was used to IV sedation but I insisted NO NO NO.
He seemed upset but used the gas instead.
After that I took him to a different vet.
I am so sorry for your little girl. I just dont understand what pain meds were given if she was not alert yet. Please understand that this was not your fault. It's true these things happen during surgery and I know that most vets feel awful when they lose a pet. My vet is very,very picky and cautious about doing surgery on any pet that is under 5 lbs.
