It was started by a guy from Seattle (Dan, aka Fasteddie) who bought a Yorkie (Yoda, the one in the masthead) and couldn't find any good information online about Yorkies. So he plunked down a bunch of his own money and created a place where Yorkie owners could gather and share that information for free.

That was in 2004, I believe. Now, six years, nearly 3 million posts and multiple server expansions later, Dan's still here but with a team of helpers who go by the name admin. Yoda's still here, and he has a brother named Winkie. Best of all YT is still here and free (donations accepted ) with a searchable database so anyone who wants to learn about Yorkies can find it.

That's my understanding, anyway.

This is really quite amazing. And, to think it's all for the love of a yorkie
