Just reduce his food a little. Seems a shame to have a fat dog (since they have a lot of health issues), when it is so easy just to limit their food. Our neighbors had a fat Cocker Spaniel, same litter as ours (we got them as rehomes when they were older), anyways, it died at age 8 or 9 and ours lived to be 16.. Big difference. He was good and active years after the other cocker died. Exercise and a correct diet is all they need.
I feed Scruffs 1/3 cup twice a day of Innova EVO. Sometimes its less if he feels heavier or ate too many treats that day.
