Thank you all, I just got back from the Vet and Sophie Kate will be fine. We have some ointment to apply to the sore but the Vet said it is healing nicely.
I am going with the in home pet sitter from now on, no more kennels. I have a dogwalker who comes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and she does pet sitting so I think I will try her next (she is so good with Sophie Kate and I know my dog loves and trusts her).
