I always wean my pups on finely ground up puppy food. I usually put a bowl down as soon as they are walking, usually around 3 1/2 weeks. I will also put down a bowl of water. I like using the small double sided bowls they sell in the pet department at Wal-mart. I put the ground up food in both sides of the bowl and a separate bowl for the water. As they get older I don't grind the food as fine. I use a blender to grind the food.
