Go with your gut, when picking a breeder. "You buy your breeder first, then your puppy".
Recommendations are wonderful, however, a recommendation coming from 1 person doesn't really give you a complete insight to a breeder.
I come from Texas and began my exhibiting and journey with yorkies there, so I'm pretty familiar with who is who in the yorkie world there. There are some very reputable breeders there. Glad you e-mailed YTCA breeders, follow up with a phone call (shows them you are truely interested and they prefer hearing your voice). Do your homework. Take your time, obtaining a yorkie is a huge undertaking. What you are really looking for in a breeder is relationship, that will be there 7 x 24. One that will provide you a guarantee for your puppy. Remember Guarantees are only as good as the 2 people signing the document.
Not sure if you are aware.....but, it's Bile Acids that are done for LS. Another insight to Liver Shunt testing. Having them performed on the dam and sire (great for breeders in determining the correct pair to breed) only proves that they do not have shunt, but it doesn't prove that they are not carriers and aren't going to produce shunt.
