Also, kibble (hard food) is better for her teeth than the wet, but raw food is even better. If you have to feed wet, then be sure you brush her teeth after feeding.

You can get a lot of information on dog foods in the board section on "Health and Diet."

In regards to the black spot, you need to get it checked by a vet. Black spots on dogs on mucous membranes could be melanoma, so just to be safe get it checked out.
