I think it depends on the amount of time and money you have to properly take care of them. Traveling gets more difficult with a third unless you have an RV. With a 4th, it's even more difficult if you take them shopping locally. Probably need a stroller large enough for that many, or even have one custom made like the ones that are made for quads. If you have the time to devote to them during the day, the money to make sure they eat very well, and for the Vet. and any surgeries that would be needed. It isn't cheap even with one.
