This thread reminded me that we used to have an old tape of Mike Harding doing a live show that had a sketch in it of the problems he'd had, on his first trip to America, with language.
Anyone heard it? It was really funny.
All sorts of problems like turning the tap on & couldn't fathom why everyone was shouting to force it.
Or the shock he encountered after buying a fairy cake & complaining he'd lost his cherry.
