Gen, did Cookie have very thin hair on top of his head???I stopped by a pet store locally here today, and they had a Yorkie behind a cage with plexi glass, he looked like he had run for weeks, his (looking at him from the front) left ear looked to be torn, not a fresh tear, but he also looked like he had scratches down his little legs. The lady at the store said it was the owners dog, and he was wanting to reduce his breeders and he would make a good price on him. around 200-250 but he just produced a litter of puppies, and they have sold his puppies for 700 each. If this is the case why would they sell him so cheap-also was Cookie nutured?? This guy is not. She would not let me hold him or see him out of the cage. I'm 5'1 and the cage he was in, the bottom was at the top of my head, so I couldn't see him very well. I did see the top of his head and it was very thin. I know this is probally not him, but it seems there is something up with this dog. She couldn't tell me if there were papers with him, she would have to call the owner to get the facts. And the ones that was in cages lower and I could see was in filth. They had solid wood walls on each side and behind them and the plexi glass in front. The little guy barked if you came new the cage, she said he only done this while in the cage, he was just a sweetheart when he ran loose at night. He was sitting there shaking. I wish this area had someone that would monitor and do something about a business having animals in this enviroment. But we don't, anyways I looked at Cookies pictures on you site and they resemble each other alot.
Anyways my point is, I know in Jonesborough TN, there are alot of people that own homes there and Fl and alot of Floridans travel to that location. We are just outside of Johnson City, TN which is part of what they call the TRI-CITIES and was just wondering if it would be good for me to get one of your posters with the current photo of cookie and send to the vets and groomers there. If you have something already made up could you email it to me at
sdfurches@verizon.net. I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before, I guess seeing this poor little guy and thinking this is a possibility really opened my eyes that he could be in this area just as well as any other. Anyways not trying to get your hopes up at all, but it was just strange. I'm going back in the morning to talk to the owner and mabey he will let me get hold of him and I will take a photo, unless Cookie was nutured. Sharon
