I"ve used puppy Science Diet when weaning pups off of mom....no problem.
If you did a sudden change, what she would have been experiencing is diarreah, not vomiting.....
Merrick is great food, but since there are no perservatives, one needs to keep track of the experation dates and how it is stored. My girlfriend who has one of my pups, experienced similiar to what you are (Merrick food). She was storing it in the garage in a big plastic container in the summer. Pup got deathly ill and ended up in the hospital for 3 days.....IV, antibiotics, tests, etc.
