Have I don't lots of research, or googled the subject... no, I guess I was hoping, for someone to come along, and hold my hand, to get through the door! I do realize that the CKC and the AKC are different, I am sure much of it is the same, or similar.

I think as long as it is well stated in your article, that you are new, and this is a "support", not an authority... what harm? Finding a (new, for me) mentor...very important!! Lets remember, there is more than one way to do things, so each mentor, may have expertise, they are not identical, and sharing ideas, is what YT is about!
Making a fool of oneself is part of the criteria.......even the best of them that have been showing for years......A very well known exhibitor lost her skirt in the ring and went on to win Best of Breed. Another got her earring caught in the judges zipper (male), another's buttons opened on her dress all the way up and down. I've been made to look like a fool by my dogs acting like circus clowns. A friend of mine has been known to get down on the grown to coax her puppy to walk in the ring......So be prepared at any moment to look like a fool and/or be embarassed by these yorkies.
