I learned years ago to put ID tags on my dogs and I ALWAYS put on the tag their name, our phone number and "needs daily medicine" even though they don't need medicine. That way, the person that is considering keeping a found pet will think it's going to cost a lot of money to maintain due to possible vet costs and you have a better chance of getting your dog back. If I found a dog on the street that was lost and thought it was adorable and saw "needs daily medicine" on the tag, I would definitely contact the owner. I wouldn't want to keep it not knowing what was wrong with it. The foster mom I got Toby from thought that was an excellent idea so thought I'd pass it along to everyone.
