Make sure the canned pumpkin is the NON pie kind. It has to be 100% puree pumpkin NO cinnamon or sugars. There was a shortage this year and will roll into the next year due to floods in midwest where they are largely grown. Go to Trader Joes, their farms are not located there and I believe are organic so no shortage there.

Also, once you open the can, use a spoon or melonballer and scoop out the pumpkin and freeze them in little individual serving size balls for next time. That way you don't have to throw away any or buy a new can every time and already have them on hand. They seem to like the frozen pumpkin too.
