Students should be free to express unpopular opinions (political, religious, etc) without reprisal.
Students should be free to leave the words "Under God" out of the pledge of alliegance. Not everyone believes in God, but that does not mean they are not good Americans.
Students should be free to make constructive criticism regarding curricula, teaching methods, or school policies without penalty or reprisal.
Students should be free to attend school without fear of bullying.
Students should be free to attend school without having to sell candy bars, raffle tickets or other items to fund school programs. Kids should not have to raise money for their own educations. Funding is the job of the parents and the educational system.
Students should be free to pray at school, but it should be on their own time and in a separate location from other students who do not wish to pray. Except at religious or private schools, praying should never be required.
Students should be free to go to clean and safe bathroom facilities whenever they need to go. |
