Is there a particular reason why you want to supplement with coconut oil? Why is your vet recommending omega 3?

Coconut oil is a medium chain triglyceride which is good for dogs with pancreatitis. That is, it's better than some other fat sources. It can be found in some rx diets. However, I would be very, very careful about giving any fat at all that is not part of an rx diet to a dog who has had pancreatitis.
