Spend lots of time positively reinforcing your dog with learned behaviour and repitition. Potty training and simple commands like stay, sit, leave it are good ones. Also, teaching your puppy to love the crate is invaluable along with potty training. I suggest training the puppy to ring a bell to go outside whenever it needs to potty.
