My youngest was sort of picky on a diet of home-cooked wet mixed with kibble, but I recently started separating the two out in the same bowl. I was surprised when she starting clearing her whole bowl. For some reason, she just didn't like it mixed.
As for store-bought canned, I've heard good things about Merrick's, notably their Grammy's pot pie recipe. Whole Dog Journal likes it, anyway.
