I think it is common for them to regress after a traumatic experience. We had a lab once that had to have a sticker removed from her eyelid and was put under. When she came home, (she was 7 months old and almost full grown) she went to her mother and started to nurse! We were cracking up over the sight, but she just needed to go back to her puppyhood a little while. Be patient and try to keep your pup in an area that is carpet free until things get better.
