I've not had any experience with this particular problem but I know for helping drainage, you should use warm compresses. Try and make it as warm as you can.
I wished I lived closer to you, I could send you a collar but it would take a few days. I hope the ER vet can help you with this. I would think that an ER facility would have someone they can contact for something like this.
