I think it is the thought, though people could use a little more of the thought process. For example my new sister in law (since July) sd she told my brother he had to pick the presents for his side of the family. Something mom has always done for him. He was going to get gift certificates. She took him to Belk where she works and sd lets just look around. He saw some dog pjs. So he sd that would be great for my neice, and saw some paw print ones for me. The prob is he got xl for her (she wears a larger size not sure what) and he got me a L. I am more comfortable in 2x (or 3x for pjs). I can wear them but it is tight. Keeping them cause he picked them. I love that he knew that I would love the paw print. Hate he did not realize the size or ask mom. Hsve to admit I love the fact that he thought I was littler than I am.
This year since money was tight, people here seemed to try and get what everyone would like. Quality not quantity.
