I used to have a parakeet named April May. One night she was chirping a lot (very out of character). Her cage was outside my parents' bedroom. My dad took the cage, covered it with a sheet and moved it into the basement onto a coffee table for the night so we could get some sleep. My dog at the time, Midnite, apparently snuck downstairs and knocked the cage open and ate April. You got pretty lucky with Cosmo & Kirby!!! Good thing you saw what happened.
