Yes, we learned a very important lesson years ago when we had our American Staffordshire Terrier . . .
One Christmas I didn't purchase anything for her stocking figuring she really has no idea and it was no big deal. She watched us open our gifts and all seemed fine. Later that day, we left for my sister's house . . .I had taken Ally out before we left (like I normally do when we left to go out). We were only gone a few hours . . .upon our return, we noticed that Ally hadn't greated us at the door as normal . . .upon further inspection, there was a HUGE (and I mean HUGE) puddle of pee pee right by the Christmas tree . . .

So, long story short, furkids DO know about Christmas and will take REVENGE on their owners if they aren't given anything . . .

Never again, in my life, will I ever not buy one of my furkids a Christmas present, fearing the consequences and repercussions . . .
