Yes, their teething will cause their ears to go up and down. I've read here that some yorkies ears have suddenly stood up even after a year. I have taped Sophie's ears in both ways you described several times and don't forget the massage and shaving them on the inside and 3/4 way down on the outside. Sophie's ears will tip just at the tippy top from time to time. I love her look
