oh, mine hate the x pen too.. I put them there to wash and clean their area and all they do is cry.. I bought the little fence at petsmart is for ginea pigs..
, I tape it to the sides of the whelping box and is big enogh for them to exercise and when they are tired go back in their box, also mama can just go in and out as she pleases so is a win, win situation.
by 8 weeks I change the little fence for the taller with the door pen and take the whelping box away and add a crate that way they can be crate trained by the time they are 12 weeks.
