Ok ... it seems some people have gotten their feathers ruffled here
We're all in this together no one is trying to insult anyone
maybe some people are trying to show where the behavior comes from
but it's not an indictment on your dog parenting
You need to realize that dogs are pack animals
They live and breathe for the Group
You .... for better or worse are part of that group
so when your pup sees that you are being threatened ... he's going to react
What we need to do so that our dogs can live in our "human" world is to tamp down these pack behaviors so they do not hurt someone
so what you need to do is have your dog around with some kids
and first have them just in the house
pet the dog and give him treats
next start playing with them .... continue with the treats every once in a while
but if he starts barking or jumping ... all action and treats STOP
start again and repeat and repeat as necessary
