I could have written this word for word. Meg went through the same thing and has finally settled on Wellness CORE and Super5Mix Small Breed. And now that I say she is "settled", she will probably want something new. (Dear God, please... no!!!)
To the OP, make sure that Shadow is at least getting something in him and that he is not starting to have signs of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). If you give him things like chunks of chicken he will certainly get spoiled and not want to eat kibble, but at teh same time, hypoglycemia can be very serious. Good luck!
