I will usually have my DH give Rio some sort of treat that she can't take out of his hands while I'm tying her topknot. Carrots work, or the freeze-dried chicken - just as long as it keeps her attention. I did this ever since she was 16 weeks old, so she's pretty used to it and sometimes she let's me do her hair all by myself with no treats. Just be patient and make the whole hair tying process a happy process (lots of praise, treats) and be gentle. Don't pull too hard and don't make it too tight! |
