Poodles are supposed to be one of the smartest and easiest dogs to train. I have had two poodles in the past (different times) and they both have been super smart. Sometimes so smart, almost scary!
But I was talking to a dog trainer at some point and he was saying that as smart as they are, they also figure out very easily how to work their owners, and surprisingly he said he has also seen a lot of poodles with behavioral issues in his career, which has been the direct result of these smart cookies figuring out how to manipulate their novice owners.
