Sophie has been an only dog, but I've always had 2 dogs in the past. I'd love for Sophie to have a sister to play with us, take walks with us, and hang out together when I'm at work. I watch YT videos posted by people with two (or more) Yorkies and I really feel Sophie's missing out by being an only dog. Sophie was originally with my mom, who has 3 other dogs, and she does really well with other dogs. Even when we take our walks every day, she's really friendly... but pretty submissive. She has to be-- she doesn't even weigh 3 lbs.!
I searched shelters on-line and found a 2 year-old, 4 lb. female, Pippen, who was a puppy mill dog. Pippen has been in a foster home for the last few months with other dogs, and they say she's doing well and very gentle, but she needs a forever home. I went to meet Pippen and she is the sweetest, snuggliest thing... I actually stayed and held her and talked to her for almost 45 minutes, lol. After the New Year, Sophie and I are going to foster Pippen and see how it goes; the rescue requires a foster period before adoption, which I think is a wonderful idea (I think more people will be likely to adopt that way).
But what do all of you think about papillons? I'll confess I don't know much about the breed. I've been reading on-line and it sounds like they're sweet little dogs... but does anyone have a pap? A pap with a Yorkie? What do you think?
