I think it is just a matter of cleanliness and how much you care about that. Girls are cleaner when they pee. They squat and the urine travels down the pee string and to the ground. Boys often randomly lift their legs (and fast too) and it splashes and drips on their inner thighs. For girls you still have to wipe the pee string but it is quick.
