I am so sorry of your loss and you can trust that you will see her in heaven and you will recognize each other and you will rejoice together.
Know that you gave her a wonderful life of security and love.
I believe that dogs have spirits as well and maybe sometimes she is right near your side.
I lost a Golden retriever that I had for 12 years and she grew up with my kids and it has been 5 years and I still miss her bc she has a part of my heart. So don't feel stupid bc you loved her and miss her. I have my Godlie's ashes and I dust them off when I dust and cry every time.
They say time heals all and I believe in time you will be doing better but you will never stop missing her and that is ok.
