 Prayers for our Puppy...
Yesterday I received a hysteric call at work from my boyfriend saying that our Basenji mix was hurt. He was playing and jumped off the couch and when he landed started screaming. We rushed him to our vet who took xrays to find that his femur is broken. Because of the nature of the break it cannot be casted and he needs surgery to fix it.
Right now thanks to a close friend, he is home with us on pain medication and awaiting surgery. Instead of paying the $3-5 thousand dollars at one of the 24 hour emergency centers, my boss' friend is a DVM whose practice also has a surgeon. She is going over Koi's xrays with him this morning and have said they will keep the surgery under $1500 for us. This amount of money is still going to be difficult...we're just taking it one hour at a time...
