I have no experience with the bathing wipes. I think that I would try to get him a little more adjusted to the bath before taking him to the groomer but maybe you're right about taking him there. I never thought of putting on moisturizer. I use the Buddy Splash detangling/refreshing spray but I need to spray it on the brush because he hates getting sprayed. Last year I used fish oil from the vet bc his skin was dry. We drizzled it over his food. He was not a fan but he did eat his dinner and the oil made a huge difference.
