so sorry I went through this 4 years ago with dexter and pancreatitis is very scary - why the liver though were the ALT high? the white blood cell count, amylase, lipase and also triglycerides are indicators of pancreatitis. Pancreatitis can be from steroids, high fatty foods so could be the treats, inflammatory bowel disease in small intestines can trigger it and stress can also trigger it.

Ours came out of the blue as well as dex was on ivd white fish and potato but white potato triggered it - my other two were fine but dex was deathly sick. It could have been any number of things to trigger it but sounds like pancreatitis. I really doubt liver disease but the pancreas can affect the other organs if severe enough so this may have caused the alt to be off.

Did they run inhouse cpli or send out to lab for firm diagnosis of pancreatitis? Best to be kept on fluids for 48-72hrs if severe as any meds, food, water through mouth can trigger another attack. Please make sure they do not give you hills I/D as my dog relapsed on that food. Have them give you ultra z/d if anything

Good luck and hope he gets better real quick
