Honestly, Pedigree, IAMS, etc ("grocery store brands") are really full of crap. Take a look at
Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble and read some reviews and ratings. Some good brands I recommend - Nature's Variety, Fromm (those are the 2 foods I feed and Jackson LOVES them and he's picky! He eats the grain-free versions), as well as Merrick's, Innova, Taste of the Wild, Acana/Orijen. Check them out
