A Yorkie's coat texture is partly determined genetically according to the ancestors. The important thing is not so much what kind of shampoo you use (natural like oatmeal is best), but what is most important is not what you put on your Yorkie, but what you put in him/her! Wheat Germ Oil is terrific to help their coats thicken with more body and also promote a healthy shine. I now have a litter of Yorkie pups. Two have the nice silky thick coat, and one has a more sparse lighter weight coat. I am putting the Wheat Germ Oil in the last one's drinking water and in his food. Wheat Germ Oil can be found in the bird section of the pet store in a small container. If you want to order in a larger quaity - I know they can do that too.
