The one in my avatar has that rough coat. Her face, breast, and tummy hair is all very soft and super super silky, but her back is coarse (there are some pictures in my album that shows her coat a little better). It never grows much more than about 2.5 or 3 inches long. Her poor hair breaks off all over the place too. On a positive side it never matts and I never have to have her groomed. I keep her on high quality dog food with salmon for her coat/skin and she always has a very shiny coat, so I assume it is as healthy as I can make it be. After a bath, I rub a tiny bit of Cowboy Magic leave in conditioner which makes it super soft and extra shiny. |
