I have chosen to wait with my little girl.

She will be about 9.5 months when she is spayed next month, she is about 4.7 pounds and I dont expect her to get any bigger by then.

I wanted to let her mature, finish growing, get all her adult teeth in, etc. before I had her spayed. The chances of her going into heat before that are pretty small, many toy dogs dont go into heat until closer to 12 months. But I am confident in my decision and if she does go into heat before then its fine.

I know many people spay right at 6 months and I think that is fine too but I wouldnt do it any younger than that for sure.
