I agree, I crate trained my dog. He loves his crate. We leave the door open all day and he goes in there when he's tired and takes a nap. We put him in there at night to sleep and he goes right in when we say bed time. It's his own little space. A place that is just his and a place where he feels safe and comfortable. Like you said not everyone agrees with it but it works for me.
