 Neutering at 5mths dog 5lbs

It's been a while!!! I've been BUSY!!!! Kodi has calmed down a lot!!! He no longer charges me or bites like he used to. He is 5mths now and sweet and affectionate as can be! Friends and family have all commented on how much calmer he is, they love him! He's soooo friendly with people, other dogs and even kids! The persistence paid off!
The Petsmart classes REALLY HELPED, TRISH THE TRAINER IS WONDERFUL. If you live in the Beaver County Pa. area its worth it at the Monaca Petsmart!!!! I also discoverd that shaking a can or plastic jar of coins stops him in his tracks! which has helped too.
He is scheduled to be neutered this Thurs. I am a little nervous as he is only five mths. The vet said he has both testicles and he is weighing in at 5.1 lbs, so I hope he'll be ok. They are going to do the bloodwork and I do trust the Banfield vet I have been seeing for 2 mths.
Any thoughts on neutering @ 5 as opposed to 6mths.
