In my opinion...I wouldn't use the word "should" in this context - only bc it makes it seem like the choice is either right or wrong.

You can rotate proteins if you like - but please be sure to save some novel proteins in case your baby *ever* develops allergies.

You can rotate food types if you like too, it's not a necessity - but your babies would probably be happy about the variety. Again, do save some novel proteins just in case...
