I live in Tucson which is 2 hours South of Phoenix.
The one warning I want to give you is to never let your dog outside by himself/herself. Alot of people have lost little ones to hawks, owls and other predators. I don't want to scare you just alert you. It is worse down here but it does happen in Phoenix. The good news is, even in the middle of winter you can be outside barefoot.
