i'm so worried when i have to leave my dogs... it makes my heart break. we found a great kennel, though, which is more like a doggie hotel than a kennel. it is clean, big, and they get tons of attention! playtimes and walks twice a day, plus brushing and baths if they need it... if you don't want to burden someone, do some research and find a really good kennel. you should always visit the kennel first and make sure it is clean and that you can trust the staff. most dogs don't mind being in a kennel. if your dog has separation anxiety, it might be best to leave him with people he knows/you know. anyway, good luck! i hope it all works out.
